Food Tips

Reduce food waste in your daily life with these helpful tips from our Shelf Life Guide. Doing so will prevent the food you buy from going to waste. And the food you don’t purchase can be donated by growers and grocers, then redirected to our neighbors in need.

GIVE FOOD

The food industry makes generous donations to food banks throughout the state, but certain important foods are often in short supply. You can help fill that gap and feed the hungry.
Food Drive Food Drive

Food Drives

A powerful way to bring together individuals, families and groups within the community, a food drive directly helps families in need. Thanks to your efforts to organize and conduct a food drive, nutritious, high-quality food and groceries will be collected within a given time period and donated to the food bank of your choice.

Pledge Your Birthday

Pledge Your Birthday

When your birthday is near, rather than gifts ask your friends to donate to feed children, families, seniors and veterans for your big day. Pick the food bank of your choice and provide instructions on how to make a donation.

Donate in lieu of Wedding/Shower Favors

In lieu of bridal shower, baby shower or wedding favors, show your guests your appreciation by helping those in need rather than spending funds on small parting gifts. Provide a thank you note to each guest explaining that you are giving back as they have just given to you by donating in their name to your local food bank.
